Brenda J. Thurman, age 72, of South Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Georgia Johnson; brothers, Delbert Ray, Jr. and Edward Johnson; and grandson, Jackson Chandler Trent. Brenda is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ronald K. Thurman; daughters and sons-in-law, Kristi and Kenny Cook and Brandi and Greg Trent; grandchildren: Patrick and Reece Cook; and Alyssa and Sara Trent; brother, Jerry L. Johnson Sr.; lifelong friend, Anna Marie James; honorary daughter, Stacie Dockery; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other lifelong friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tennessee Donor Services, 7015 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee, 37909. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:00 AM Tuesday for graveside services, Rev. Ron Williams officiating.
